West Coast Swing Competitions

Competitors enter individually and are
paired-up with different partners during the preliminary rounds; a random
final partnering is chosen for finals.

Minimum number of registrants to hold this competition is five leaders
and five followers in each division.

No gender crossover is allowed in Jack n’ Jill contests – males will
enter as leaders and females will enter as followers.

WSDC judging criteria form is attached.
WCS Competitions Jack n Jill
West Coast Swing Division breakdown will be as follows according
to WSDC points:
-
Newcomer
Division (0 points) – for those without any or limited competition
experience. This level is for those who have never competed in a Jack 'n
Jill competition or those who have zero WSDC points.

Novice
Division (1-20 Newcomer/Novice points) – this level is for those who
have competed in WCS Jack 'n Jills and have at least 1 WSDC point in
newcomer and up to 20 WSDC points in novice.

Intermediate
Division (21+ Newcomer/Novice points) – this level is for those who have
extensive competition experience and have at least 20 WSDC points in
newcomer/novice and not yet 25 points & a first place win at the
intermediate level.

Advanced
Division
(25+ Intermediate points & a first place win in Intermediate) -
this level is for advanced dancers with extensive national-level
competition experience.
WCS Competitions
Strictly
Strictly Swing WCS Contests:

A contest that
highlights a couple's ability to dance to different kinds of WCS music.

Competitors choose their partner and we choose the music.

Minimum number of registrants to hold this competition is five leaders and
five followers in each division.

Gender crossover is allowed in strictly swing contests.
